What makes Everlight fun
A browser action-defense roguelite. You play the monster the village once feared, defending eighteen villagers who cannot fight back. Your health bar is the Everlight itself — a shrine light that is also the light you see by, so as you lose, the village goes dark around you.
The light is the health bar
The shrine at the village centre drains while enemies stand near it — and that same number drives the actual light and the fog. At full strength the village is warm and readable; as it falls, you are fighting in the dark.
Villagers are taken, not killed
An enemy that reaches a villager grabs them and hauls them toward the treeline. Kill the carrier and they run for shelter. Let it go, and that villager — and the light in their window — is gone for the run.
Walls that break, and a day between nights
A palisade ring with gatehouses the horde has to break through, and ten named homes behind it. Come dawn, villagers sell you upgrades and the doors rebuild — then night comes back.
